The theme this year is Seed the Change as we are raising money for much needed playground / outdoor improvements.
It has been five years since we opened our doors and built our amazing natural playground out of an empty parking lot. It has seen numerous hot summer days, lots of snow, many, many soggy puddles and best of all a whole lot of play! Being made of all natural materials it is in need of a refreshing uplift this year. We have many exciting plans and goals in mind including a tool workshop, an outdoor atelier (art center), a natural wooden climbing structure and a revamped mud kitchen!
We will be sending out more auction information and exciting updates in the coming weeks. For now please be thinking about if there are any items, experiences, or time you could donate to our cause.
Planned Improvements
New Play Structure
Gross motor skills and learning to take appropriate risks is a vital part of child development and the main theme of our playground. With this structure, children will be able to climb and hang in a way that isn’t currently offered on our playground.
Revamped Mud Kitchen
Outdoor messy play lends itself to so much imaginative play as well as
the ability to get messy in a creative, sensory rich way. We would love a
revamped mud kitchen for our playground as we have our grown and over loved our
current kitchen space.
Tool Shed Upgrades
Having a space for children to create, especially outdoors is powerful. Being able to use tools in our (supervised) tool shed gives children the ability to feel powerful, productive, creative and adds an element of fine motor development which we hope to add more of with this playground revamp!
