Role and Responsibilities
The Support Teacher works as a team member, providing assistance to the Lead Teacher and colleagues to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide classroom assistance to the Lead Teacher, ensure tasks are completed, and assist children during transitions.
- Develop strong relationships with children, families, and staff through open communication and daily interactions.
- Understanding and adhering to CO state licensing requirements.
- Assisting in daily routines and rituals that involve cleaning, sanitizing, and helping to maintain a clean and organized environment, including opening and closing the center.
- Providing engaging materials and activities for children to explore.
- A commitment to continuing education and professional development.
Requirements
Candidates must be:
- Assistant teacher qualified in the state of Colorado.
- Must have taken appropriate community college courses, such as ECE 1011 (Intro to Early Childhood Education) or ECE 1030 (Guidance Strategies for Young Children), plus one elective class.
- Level 2 on Colorado Shines
- Maintain up-to-date fingerprints, background checks, and all documentation through PDIS/Colorado Shines.
- Possess at least one year (Preferred) of experience in an early childhood education setting.
- Exhibit a professional, responsive, and fun-loving attitude.
